European Health Data Space: Enabling Future Innovation
As proven by the fight against COVID-19, data and digital health have the potential to drive change and improve efficiency and accessibility in healthcare.
To make the most of this enormous potential, the European Commission opened a public consultation on the European Health Data Space, one of its most ambitious initiatives, aiming to embrace the innovation and technologies of the future, in a safe and protected environment for the European citizens.
Together with its Digital Health Working Group, EUCOPE submitted its response, calling for a fit-for-purpose regulatory framework. We believe only a balanced environment will enable safe data-sharing, accelerate the rollout of personalised medicine and diagnostics solutions, and drive innovation in AI and digital health.
